5A joy to read and look at.
By Francois Leblanc
I purchased this book because I liked the original portion of "The Complete Guitarist" book where the history and dissection of the guitar is shown.

This book is full of pictures and descriptions of a lot of guitars. The book is divided by guitar type, from acoustic, archtop, solid-body electics, semi-solid electrics and basses. The descrptions are short and give way to the pictures, but the guitars that demand, by respect, more description are given more pages.

The guitars shown are from all over the world and thence aren't fixed to a specific market. Its cool to see how a russian guitar is made.

The only thing I would have liked is a timeline, but the book isn't formatted this way and it is fine.

All in all a very fun book to have. No theory, not one thing to tell you "practice damn it!", just enjoy.

I've read and reread this book innumerable times. The details in construction proficiencies of the respective classes of guitars from the Archtops to the Solid Bodies, are very well ilistrated and the text is unambiguous, without being patronizing. I would highly recomend it as an addition to auy music lovers library. -Jose' Torres Jr.-

5The pictures make the book.

If you were to never read one word of the text of Mr. Bacon's fine book, it would still be worth the cost. Encased among the two covers are a good deal of of the finest photos of guitars you'll ever lay your eyes on. Not only are there pictures of your "standard" American-made guitars (Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker), but also "axes" from around the world. Bacon has likewise included some interesting and strange guitars as well. This is a book that you will go back to over-and-over; it's that interesting.

5Great Price
By Jimmy The Cat
Wow, for the price it is out of the question not to give this guitar a 5 star rating. This is better than most of those $500 guitars that try to have a nice shape. The design was what caught my eye at the guitar shop, and than i saw the price. The other reviewer said it had bad humbuckers/pickups, but he will have to have a crappy amp, cause this guitar carried a mean, tuff tone on everything. haha, it is not a good idea to play acoustic style songs on this, as i've tried. Truely for the metal-hard rock lovers. But i play for the most part Punk, and it gets the occupation done. You won't find a better guitar, for this price; exceptionally the looks.

5Excellent starter guitar or one for your collection
By Dick Fitzwell
I purchased this guitar earlier this year and it has been outstanding to play with. I tried out galore dissimilar guitars, and they either didn't feel good, or they were out of my price range. The firstborn time I tried this one out, it felt horrid in my hands, then a month later I tried it out again and it felt perfect. The neck is reasonably thin which is what I was looking for since my hands aren't too big. A lot of reviewers say this guitar has bad pickups, but it sounds finelooking good to me. I have a little 20 watt amp and a Digitech Grunge Pedal hooked up to it and I get a good deal of in truth nice sound out of it. I've learned to play with little difficultness on this guitar and recommened you try it out original to make sure it works for you.

Don't let the humans who say this is a bad guitar get to you.

4GREAT guitar, particularly for the price.
By Jensen Lee
I found this bass on Musician's Friend and ordered it there originally; it had outstanding reviews from an assortment of players and the nuclear green color looked amazing. I ended up canceling my order with MF because of just how general this guitar is- They had to put a 30-day backorder detect on it.

I remunerated the extra to get Amazon to ship it sooner and it was well worth it! The green is even sharper in person. I have never seen an instrument this color before.

I have it plugged into my Fender 60w Rumble Bass amp and I get a genuinely full sound. It's great, specially for the price! My complaints are minimal, peculiarly for just how lowcost this made-in-China guitar is. I have a little fret buzz that I'll probably be spending [...] bucks or so to fix and the jack is making my sound fuzz a wee bit. It's unnoticed when genuinely playing with another guitar, even though (Yes, I checked! :) ). Keeping in mind you're only spending [...] bucks on a guitar, this bass' tone is GREAT.

It's solid, great-looking, and a wondrous size for a medium-sized player (I'm 5'5'' and it's perfect). I love playing it and it's going to make a outstanding impression on the stage.
